Our Pop-up Pamper Day!

We know from experience how difficult it is to find time for yourself for a few minutes let alone enough time to paint your nails and let them dry. We also know how hard parents work both at their work place and taking care of their family and that everyone needs some time for themselves too.

Here at the Hub we try to help with that in a number of different ways. We have Tiny Town where children can be absorbed in imaginative play for hours and parents can both join in their play or sit back and relax with a free tea or coffee or splash out on a slice of cake or a glass of home-made lemonade.

We have a bacon roll and filter coffee
special each Saturday morning!
Every Saturday we host ‘Who Let The Dads out?’ where we encourage Dads to take their children out for the morning. We help by having a range of games and activities for Dads to play with their children as well as having a special of bacon rolls and filter coffee available. There is also Rugbees held at The Bull & Bush which is a great activity for parents and children, and bacon rolls and coffee are also on the menu!

Each Tuesday we hold Bump into Mums. A free coffee morning where Mums can chat, share and ask advice from other Mums in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Children can come and play in the free play area, or in Tiny Town, and women can share in the camaraderie of other Mums who know what it is like trying to manage life with little ones!

As a working Mum who couldn’t find time for her hobby, we started knit and natter so I could get some time to knit! You do not have to be able to knit to come, you can learn with us (my crochet is developing as I learn with another member!) or just join us for the natter!!

So, this month we have decided to host our second pop-up pamper day.

What is a pop-up pamper day?
It is a one-off chance for you to get your nails painted, grab an amazing (I speak from experience) back massage or enjoy a pedicure while your children play. We invite a local masseuse and beautician (local Mum and Daughter team Connie and Thato) to set up with us for the day. They offer express manicures, pedicures and massages with treatments lasting from 15 minutes to 45 minutes and costing from as little as P50 up to P180 for a 30 minutes back massage. Finding time for you without breaking the bank! Our feedback from our last one in February was that it was a shame it was only no a weekday and so we have extended this one to be all day both on a Thursday and a Saturday hopefully finding times that will suit everyone. Just pop in on the day or, if you want a specific time, you can phone or e-mail to book a time. (75935900 or thehoneycombhub@outlook.com)

Supporting local charities
Pamper yourself for charity! Each month we have a local charity we support and this month it is Rhino Conservation Botswana. We have agreed with the beauticians who are coming in that 20% of all the proceeds will go towards this charity and so by getting a manicure or massage, you are helping save the rhinos!

Finally, pop-up pamper day is not just for women! We had a few men come last time and greatly enjoy their pedicure (everyone likes neat feet!) and massage. In fact, one lady came for a massage, enjoyed it so much she called her boyfriend who also came for one and then called his mother too as they are so good! Everyone deserves a bit of pampering once in a while.
